Why Bringing a Swag is a Better Option than a tent

Summertime is here and it is the best season to explore the wilderness and get in touch with Mother Nature. It’s time to pack your camping bags and set out to experience another adventure. In order to make your summertime camping the most fun ever, you need to be fully equipped and prepared to avoid mishaps that may keep you and your friends from enjoying time outside.

Aside from packing all the essentials, we need to keep in mind to pack light. We don’t want to be lugging around all that stuff through rocky or muddy terrains don’t we? This is why bringing along a swag instead of a tent is a lot more practical and convenient.

Here’s a few more reasons why a happy camper loves swags:

It only takes more or less 30 seconds to set up a swag.

Setting up a tent can sometimes become a hassle especially if you’re not used to it. It could take you even up to an hour whereas a swag can be set up in less than a minute. It has all the essentials you need inside like a mattress sheet you can comfortably snuggle in after a long, fun day camping.

Some elaborate swags has some perks that a tent can offer. We are talking about inside pockets to keep your phone and valuable. Some has straps too that can hold anything you want above ground or to hold a lamp or illumination for the night.

A swag is lighter than a tent.

We talked about packing lightly earlier right? A swag is way lighter to bring than a tent because it can only fit one person or two (depends on which kind of swag you get). This makes it a perfect choice for back packers and campers. Just roll it up strap it on your back pack. If you are bike and doing cross country it fits snugly into any compact carrier that you may have.

Swags are insect-proof.

Swags are built to be insect proof while some tents are not. When you camp out, it is important to bring a sleeping material that’s insect-proof because you don’t know if the area you camped in is infested with parasites or mosquitoes so it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Sure, a tent can offer a lot more privacy and can some can fit a lot of people so if you prefer that then by all means, go for it. But if you’re going to be sleeping alone in your swag or if you’re a couple, if you like to pack lightly and if you want to be able to have something comfortable to sleep in in just a very short time, then a swag is definitely a good choice. Happy camping!
